American Insert 14" x 36"

Douglas Fairbanks proved why he was one of the best to ever "swash a buckle" in this tale of pirates and revenge on the high seas. Fairbanks did some of the most memorable stunts in screen history, such as sliding down the slit sails on his dagger, that were often imitated, but seldom equaled. The film was considered lavish at the time, as it was one of the first films to use two-strip Technicolor. This wonderful insert offers an excellent image of swashbuckling Fairbanks, a role where he established the standard for the genre. There were some trivial dings and small scratches, a tear on the bottom border that extended slightly into the graphics and fold lines. These minor defects were expertly repaired during the paper-backing process and have been rendered virtually undetectable.
