One of the very finest, if not THE finest Ted Williams jersey in the marketplace! Simply a terrific piece of sports memorabilia and baseball history. This Boston Red Sox home jersey was worn by Williams during the 1940 season. It was later sent down to the minor leagues, where it was eventually saved as a momento. Wow, what a great momento! The jersey still has Williams name in the collar and the original Spalding label and size tag remains intact. The team lettering on the front is make of heavy felt and is all original. The number "9" on the reverse has been added and is not the original. There has also been some stitching restoration in the tail to mend tearing. All-in-all, a wonderful and completely authentic jersey that was once worn at the peak of this Hall of Famer's career. Includes letters of authenticity from SCD and Grey Flannel.
