Silly Symphony One Sheet Poster (1st Donald Duck!)
1934
Very Fine+

Walt Disney started his "Silly Symphony" series in 1929 as an experiment in early sound synchronization. When Disney moved distributors and signed with United Artists in 1932, he continued with both his Mickey Mouse and "Silly Symphony" series. United Artists produced individual one sheets for both series from August 1932 until June 1933, when, due to the Depression and in an attempt to cut back expenses, the studio shifted to a "stock" one sheet format. This impressive stock one sheet for the "Silly Symphony" series is the first stock sheet issued by United Artists. As an interesting note, it is also the first poster to feature the early prototype of Donald Duck, a character that wouldn't actually be introduced to the public until June 1934. The poster has had minor professional touch-up to a few tiny chips in the borders and very minor color touch-up to the fold lines. Very Fine+ on Linen.
