Issued in 1950, the Menko Japanese baseball cards featured the top Japanese players of the time, with the cards being fashioned after a deck of playing cards. The set also contained a card of the most famous American baseball player in history as well, none other than Babe Ruth of New York Yankees fame. He is featured as the Joker card, with his name in printed in Japanese. The Ruth card is Gem Mint on this uncut sheet of 54 cards, as are all the others, save for the four corner cards, which each have only the most minute amount of wear. This outstanding sheet set has tremendous eye appeal due to the vibrant colors. The sheet measures approximately 15" by 10.5" and is absolutely the best example of these cards that I have ever encountered!
