1915 Cracker Jack Ty Cobb
Cracker Jack 1915
Card #30
SGC NM-MT 88

It's that song......"buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jacks...." Who could think of that sticky-sweet snack without thinking of our National pastime? It's virtually impossible! One thing's for certain though - that sticky sweetness was a poor bedfellow of baseball cards, leaving the vast majority of them coated with gooey spots. Not the case here....perhaps Ty Cobb and sweetness just couldn't possibly go together? Despite the approach of the card's 90th birthday, there's likely not a single difference between its appearance now and its appearance as it slid off the printing press back in '15. Any so-called defects are due solely to the antiquated procedures used in its production, namely the slightly off-balance centering and a tiny, darker spot of ink that resides in the red background area. The corners are beyond reproach, the surface silky-smooth and the verso without a single dot of ink out of place. Only a single example of this card has ever achieved a higher ranking from SGC and just one other has tied this one. Suffice to say, it is one of the most rare and desireable Ty Cobb cards in existance.
